Website Photo Galleries & Slideshows
There are a multitude of photo galleries and slideshows on the Internet. From basic web pages with static thumbnails that link to full size images, to flexible Adobe Flash based photo galleries, to sophisticated database hosted image galleries.
By far the most common method of deploying a photo gallery or slideshow on a website is by using an Adobe Flash based image gallery. There are literally hundreds of open source Flash based photo galleries that can be downloaded for no cost and integrated into a websiteby a knowledgable and experienced web developer.
Some galleries focus on speed while others focus on features. Some image galleries, like NextGen Gallery for WordPress, Gallery 2 or Coppermine, use a database system with a content management interface where the client can upload photos all by themselves. There are websites, like Google's Picasa, that provide sophisticated user generated image galleries that can be embedded directly into your website.
